This sash is specially designed and made for Festival du Voyageur. In the 19th century, many sashes were produced in the area of L’Assomption, Quebec. These sashes made their way west because they were often worn by French-Canadian voyageurs contracted by the North-West Company. The official Festival du Voyageur sash includes the traditional L’Assomption colours, (red, white & blue) the colours of the Festival du Voyageur (black & red) and the colours of the Franco-Manitoban flag (white, green, red & yellow).
