Job Overview: As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the festival’s beverage operations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our attendees. You will lead a team of bartender Supervisors/Team Leads and Beverage Inventory Clerks (Slingers), while collaborating with other festival departments to provide high-quality service during the event.
Responsibilities:
Bar Operations:
- Manage day-to-day bar operations, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory control, order supplies, and manage stock levels.
Staff Management:
- Assist with recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
- Maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Service:
- Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns quickly and professionally.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements as needed.
Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with festival organizers and other departments to coordinate bar-related logistics.
- Work closely with vendors and partners to ensure seamless operations.
Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of beverage trends and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold temperatures, especially when handling and transporting alcohol.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the festival period.
Availability:
To be selected for this position, workers must be available for:
- Evening shifts: From February 10 to 23, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

Who we are: The Festival du Voyageur Inc. is a Francophone charitable organization founded in 1969, offering artistic and educational experiences inspired by the era of the Voyageurs of 1815. The first edition of the Festival took place in 1970 and has since grown to become the largest francophone event in Western Canada, attracting over 75,000 festivalgoers each year. This annual 10-day celebration showcases various arts disciplines, including music, dance, sculpture, and visual arts, while prioritizing Francophone and Indigenous artists.
Responsibilities:
- Ticket Sales and Customer Service: Sell parking tickets to festivalgoers from a heated parking booth, ensuring efficient processing and providing a friendly and welcoming experience.
- Traffic Direction and Parking Assistance: Assist festivalgoers in finding parking spots, direct traffic to ensure smooth and safe movement, and ensure all vehicles are parked properly.
- Relay Operations: Work in relay with other parking attendants, ensuring smooth shifts and continuity in parking operations.
- Team Parking Management: Monitor team parking areas, checking credentials to ensure only authorized vehicles are allowed to enter designated areas.
- Safety and Security: Help ensure parking lots are secure, safe, and free from hazards. Report any incidents or issues promptly to the festival organizers.
- Setup and Take-down: Assist in setting up and taking down parking signs, barricades, and other necessary equipment for the smooth operation of parking areas.
- General Support: Maintain a positive and professional attitude while assisting festivalgoers with parking-related inquiries.
Requirements: Be available for paid training (TBD) and the following shifts:
- Friday 14, Thursday 20, Friday 21 of Feb.: 4:30 PM - 10:30 PM
- Saturday 15, Sunday 16, Saturday 22 of Feb.: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM and/or 3:00 PM - 10:30 PM
- Monday 17 of Feb.: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Sunday 23 of Feb.: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in parking management, ticket sales, customer service, or event coordination is highly desirable.
- Ability to process ticket sales with POS machine efficiently and accurately.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-focused attitude.
- Ability to operate in relay with a team, ensuring smooth transitions and continuous service.
- Experience with credential checking or access control is a plus.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying Winter weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (position primarily outdoors in winter conditions).
- Ability to move and carry equipment as needed.
- Ability to manage the physical demands of working in a relay or team setting.
