NEW TICKET PRICES AND ADMISSIONS SYSTEM FOR THE 2018 FESTIVAL DU VOYAGEUR
ST. BONIFACE, November 9, 2017 – Today, Festival du Voyageur unveils changes to its ticketing system in order to improve the experience of festivalgoers and ensure a high quality of programming for years to come.
LIMITED AMOUNT OF PASSES
To better manage the flow of visitors, reduce the length of line-ups at the entrance of Voyageur Park and offer an even more enjoyable experience to our festivalgoers, we will introduce a limit to the number of Voyageur Passes (formerly the 10-Day Pass) and Day Passes that will be on sale for the 2018 Festival du Voyageur. Instead of an Adult Day Pass that is valid on any day of the festivities, there will be 8 different Day Passes that will correspond to each of Voyageur Park’s 8 days of public programming. (Please note that changes will only affect the Adult Day Passes. Youth and Senior Day Passes will still be valid on any day of the festival.) With this new system, it is conceivable that certain days could potentially sell-out. To guarantee admission to the festival, we strongly encourage festivalgoers to buy their Voyageur Pass in advance and take advantage of our presale beginning December 1, 2017, and ending January 15, 2018. (Only the Voyageur Pass will be available during the presale.)
NEW PRICES AND PRESALE REBATES
The Festival du Voyageur has always strived to limit the price of its passes as much as possible. Included in the price of admission:
- Programming that features over 150 artists from here and afar;
- The International Snow Sculpting Symposium;
- An outdoor playground and concerts for kids;
- Historical interpretation and Voyageur Apprentice Workshops;
- Themed nights;
- An artisans’ market
- A free shuttle And much more!
Due to our new ticketing process and the increasing costs of our programming and operations, we have re-evaluated the admission prices for our festival. Prices will be as follows for the 2018 edition of Festival du Voyageur:
This year, we will also raise the age limit for free entry for children from 5 years old and under to 12 years old and under to reduce the price of admission for young families who would like to take part in Festival du Voyageur. We encourage all adult festivalgoers who have children, nieces, nephews, grandkids, etc., who are 12 years old and under to share the festival experience with a new generation. Additionally, children who are 13 to 17 years old and participate in the 2018 Great-West Life School Program will receive a Youth Voyageur Pass and be granted free entry to Voyageur Park for the entire festival. Festivalgoers who are 60 years old and over will also be able to take advantage of a discounted cost of entry with the inclusion of a “Senior” category in our price list.
For the first time, we will also offer a 20% rebate coupon for all souvenirs sold by the Festival du Voyageur (excluding products sold by other vendors at the festival) to festivalgoers who purchase a Voyageur Pass. This coupon will be valid until the end of the festival on February 25, 2018. Souvenirs will be available in advance at the Voyageur Boutique located at 233 Provencher Blvd.
The Festival du Voyageur is a non-profit community-based cultural event and we believe that all members of the community should be able to take part. For those who will find it difficult to absorb the new cost of admission, we will be offering:
- Free programming at the Rendez-vous on Ice at The Forks from February 16, 2018 to February 19, 2018;
- A volunteer program that offers a Day Pass for a minimum of 3 hours of volunteer work at the festival;
- A certain number of Day Passes which will be distributed to non-profit organisations who offer support and aid to people who are in need of assistance.
